Ritsaert Cluistra return with podium

After a year of knee injuries and rehabilitation, Tailwind ambassador Ritsaert Cluistra could hardly have wished for a better comeback: straight back onto the podium at the Ronde van Santpoort.

After finishing just fourth four times, yesterday was finally the day. A third-place finish at one of the region's most iconic and atmospheric criteriums — making this podium finish all the more special.

That makes this podium finish extra special. After a year full of knee injuries, rehabilitation and a period when cycling was far from a given, this feels like an important milestone. And an even more special moment: standing on the podium together with Mink for the first time! 🧡

The Ronde van Santpoort remains one of the most beautiful criteriums to race. So many people lining the course, friends and family cheering you on from everywhere, and an incredible atmosphere from start to finish. These are the evenings you do it for.”

A comeback straight onto the podium. After a period in which cycling was far from a given, the third-place finish is a rewarding result after months of patience, rehabilitation and hard work.

And the evening became even more special as Ritsaert shared the podium with his son Mink for the first time.

The Ronde van Santpoort remains a special race for him. Crowds line the course, friends and family can be heard throughout the race, and the atmosphere is electric from start to finish. Exactly the kind of evening that makes all the training worthwhile.

Na een jaar vol knieblessures en revalidatie kon Tailwind-ambassadeur Ritsaert Cluistra zich geen betere rentrée wensen: direct het podium op bij zijn geliefde Ronde van Santpoort.

Na vier keer nét vierde te zijn geworden, was het gisteren eindelijk raak. Een derde plaats in een van de mooiste en meest sfeervolle criteriums uit de regio — en daarmee een podiumplek die extra bijzonder voelt.

“Na vier keer nét vierde te zijn geworden, stond ik gisteren eindelijk op het podium bij de Ronde van Santpoort.

Dat maakt deze podiumplek extra bijzonder. Na een jaar vol knieblessures, revalidatie en een periode waarin fietsen helemaal niet vanzelfsprekend was, voelt dit als een mooie mijlpaal. En nog een mooier moment, voor het eerst samen met Mink op het podium!

De Ronde van Santpoort blijft een van de mooiste criteriums om te rijden. Zoveel publiek langs het parcours, vrienden en familie die je overal hoort aanmoedigen en een geweldige sfeer van start tot finish. Dat zijn de avonden waar je het voor doet.”

Een rentrée direct op het podium dus. Na een periode waarin fietsen allesbehalve vanzelfsprekend was, is de derde plaats een prachtige beloning voor het geduld, de revalidatie en het harde werk van het afgelopen jaar.
